Sean Harren serves as the Director of Operations for The Retreat of Broward. For many years, Sean has worked in residential drug and alcohol treatment centers and medical detoxification, always with the singular focus of facilitating quality care for each patient and offering support and communication with loved ones. Sean understands that navigating and finding quality treatment providers without a map or guide can be daunting. The urgency and complexity of many admission situations also require efficient and compassionate communication. Sean's years of relationship building ands experience have created a vast understanding of clinical and medical programming, logistics, insurance, and financing options in an ever-changing marketplace. He brings all of this expertise to The Retreat of Broward to make journey a little less arduous for those ready to seek help and their support system.
Beyond his direct responsibilities to The Retreat of Broward, Sean has dedicated himself to the advocacy of addiction recovery and to make a difference in the local community, such as facilitating fellowship meetings in the Broward County jails.
Sean graduated from the Academy for Addiction Professionals. His clinical certification has added to his value to the dynamic leadership team at The Retreat of Broward. Sean graduated from the Miami-Dade Medical Campus and practices as a Licensed Optician for many years before entering the addiction recovery field.
Ana is a licensed psychotherapist and qualified clinical supervisor with extensive experience in substance abuse treatment, families in crisis, and individuals in a dual diagnosis setting. As the former Clinical/Executive Director of Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center and former Chief Operations Officer of a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Fort Myers Beach, Florida she has been responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of treatment. Her widespread knowledge has included facilitating nationwide drug and alcohol interventions, drug court, substance abuse, and psychotherapy groups, providing individual, family and crisis counseling and supervising clinical programs. Her knowledge in helping families and individuals overcome the challenging and devastating effects of substance abuse and mental health issues have been the foundation of her professional career. She is passionate about the career that allows her to bring hope to families and individuals. Ana understands the importance of commitment and dedication, and her family is a cornerstone in her life. Ana looks forward to the opportunity of helping you and your loved ones through all of your substance abuse and treatment related concerns in a professional, compassionate, and dignified manner.
Alejandro is a Registered Nurse who works with people suffering from the disease of addiction and other mental/behavioral disorders to help get them on the road to recovery. Alejandro's role as a nurse has taken him beyond the physical concerns of the person and he strongly believes that no two cases are alike, and he knows from experience that when clients feel heard and understood the individualized, supportive and dignified care we provide will result in the most rewarding outcomes. As Alejandro often says - "Seeing the sparkle come back into a persons eyes is truly inspiring, motivating and rewarding" -
Alexandros achievements span across the addiction field and into other industries. Prior to becoming a nurse, he previously worked in the fashion and textiles industries, film and video p[production, and retail industry. Alejandro was drawn to the psychiatric and substance abuse field early on in his studies and transitioned into medicine and became a Registered Nurse in 2008.
As Director of Nursing, Alejandro brings an abundance of supervisory and managerial experience to The Retreat of Broward, which in the past has allowed him to lead, supervise, and training a varying and passionate group of medical personnel. Alejandro is a member of the Florida Nurses Association and has a degree in Business Administration as well as Nursing.
Ed Walsh completed his addiction treatment certification at The Academy for Addiction Professionals in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is currently a Certified Addiction Counselor, filling UR liaison, case coordinator, and discharge specialist at The Retreat of Broward.
Mr. Walsh has many years of experience in addiction, including marketing, treating and coordinating services for those affected by substance abuse and mental illness. Mr. Walsh brings compassion, patience, knowledge, and firsthand experience to his work. He has helped many to achieve and maintain successful sobriety. Ed Walsh is also active in the Rockers in Recovery program and brings his musicianship to our treatment center, skillfully demonstrating how creativity, passion, and fun go hand in hand with successful recovery from addiction. We are fortunate to have him on our staff.
Jared is the Director of Business Development at The Retreat of Broward and is a native of Medford, New Jersey. He holds his bachelor's degree in marketing/business development from Rutgers University. Jared has been working in substance abuse industry for over a decade. He has a passion for helping those that are seeking recovery and has been instrumental in assisting many afflicted by addicted as well as working closely with their families. Jared leads with ethics and integrity as his primary focus and has been successful in developing working relationships with other providers locally and out of state. Jared is a valued member of The Retreat of Broward.
Alex has been with The Retreat of Broward for 2 years as a staff Registered nurse and is currently the Assistant Director of Nursing. He received his Nursing degree from Broward College and is currently completing the Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree at Chamberlain University. Alex brings his experience in the military as a medic and 14 years as a pediatric and adult Emergency nurse to our facility. His knowledge and experience helps our patients get through the detox process comfortably and safely. Alex’s plans include obtaining a master's degree in nursing field of Psychiatric health and substance abuse.
Michael is excited and grateful to be a part of The Retreat of Broward Team. Michael brings years of experience in a variety of treatment modalities, including 12-Step, SMART Recovery and CBT. In addition, with many years in recovery himself, Michael draws on his own personal experiences to assist his clients when necessary. He has worked in operations at most levels of care and has a broad and detailed understanding of the rules and regulations governing the treatment industry. With that in mind, Michael’s goal is to maintain the highest level of integrity while providing the best client experience possible.
